Katie Bethell

Katie Bethell is the Founder & Executive Director of Paid Leave U.S.(PLUS), a national organization fighting to win paid family and medical leave for all.  Founded in 2016, PLUS has already won family leave for over 4 million people in the private sector with an emphasis on people in low-wage jobs.

Previously, Katie was Managing Director of North America Campaigns at Change.org, where she oversaw campaigns that brought Trayvon Martin’s shooting to national attention, as well as a campaign that ended the Boy Scouts anti-gay policy.

Before that, Katie was the Campaign Director at MomsRising, where she worked to win passage of statewide paid family leave in New Jersey and Washington State, paid sick days legislation in Connecticut, and the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. In 2018, Katie was named one of Fortune Magazine’s top 50 World Leaders.
